Just been having a chat with someone about the old days of central trains before london midland. I used to catch a regular train from worcester to hereford that originated at new street. You know the one? green, smeel, noisy 150 with no carpets, no tables and 2 doors per unit with a compartment in the center of the unit, and 1 either side of the doors. But one of the trains I used to catch was differnet. Still central but with carpets, some tables and door at the extreme end of each coach, small vestibules and then internal doors into the passenger compartment. I was a student at the time and seem to remember it was a 2 car unit with 1 coach being smoking nd 1 being non-smoking. Any ideas? I was into trains at the time but just can't remember any more detils, it was all about the HST for me at that time, and my mission was to try and get one of them between worcester and hereford etc if posible. I know the smelly green chap was a 150 as LM were using them until not long back on the snow hill line.
cheers in advance
