Colleague previously commuting to Manchester from Liverpool has been trans'd to the Liverpool office.
Their current season is around three grand, going to down to around £500 a year with a Merseytravel Railpass ticket.
Ordinarily with going to a cheaper season ticket it is more cost-effective to get a changeover rather than a refund and new ticket, however said colleague says when asking Merseyrail about this was told that you can't do a changeover between these two.
I can imagine some station staff not being particularly in the know about changeovers anyway, so could I put this out there for a more definitive view?
Were they told right, or should they be able to changeover from a Liv - Mcr annual season (6+ months left to go) to an annual Railpass season ticket, and if so is there anything that can be pointed to to aid them in winning the argument?
