Question is maybe: how many honest, decent politicians are left in the UK. Here in the Netherlands; they are also not to be found easily!

I found it quite fitting that HIGNFY paid tribute to Charles as well, seeing as he was a both presenter and a regular panellist on the show.

I hope Charles is at peace now, but the world of politics will be a lesser place without him.

I've been nauseated by all the politicians and political commentators referring to his 'flaws' when you consider how many crooked and/or unsavoury characters there are amongst both Houses of Parliament, particularly the Lords, and Charles Kennedy never pretended to be something he wasn't. I was just waiting for Chris Huhne to add his tuppenceworth to some of the mealy-mouthed LibDem 'tributes' before exploding. My father always called himself an alcoholic, even though he never touched a drink for the last fifty years of his life, and of course it's an illness, but most MPs will never come close to CK's personal standing.

Very sad indeed.

His father died about a month ago during the election campaign (a few days before his Question Time appearance) and...

Which is why lots of half-witted Daily Mail readers complained to the Beeb accusing him of being drunk.
