Cheapest way from Smethwick Galton Bridge to Bristol Temple Meads

On Friday, I plan to have a train day out at Bristol Temple Meads. I'm looking for the cheapest way to travel between the two stations last time I went from SGB to WOF, and WOF to BRI on two separate tickets for around £14 (with a railcard), I just wanted to know if there was a cheaper way

You could check if a further split at Cheltenham saves anything - it will only be 10 or 20p if it does though

trainsplit.com suggests buying a Smethwick Galton Bridge to Droitwich discounted offpeak day return for £4.95 and a Droitwich to Bristol discounted offpeak day return for £8.60 - you would need to use trains that call at Droitwich.
