Do those still apply from mid May, though?
The current weekday diagram (OP is planning to visit on a Wednesday) is expected to continue until further notice;
at least until the end of the Covid 'roadmap' on June 21st.

Hi guys,

Can anyone confirm if the Saturday running is correct please as these show as silver sets from the 22nd of May but RRT show all those paths as 168’s?

I’m planning to make a run out early in the morning to pick up the 07:12 from Kidde back into London and would hate to get up that early only to find a 168 approaching at Banbury.

Many thanks in advance!

You won't be able to do that on the 22nd May (tomorrow) now.

The silver sets have been withdrawn (again) and will be subbed for a 168.

Ah that's annoying, had come across a stock movement that looked like a silver set was being used for the 07:12 run after all.

This is from the depot to Kiddermister showing a class 68
Rumour has it it’s because of cracks found on the silver sets. They are withdrawn till further notice.

Yep, there's a thread about it somewhere. It's on the locomotives, not the coaches. (If it was the coaches that'd be probably be the end of Mk3s entirely, I reckon, but I think we're OK there :) )

I note that the 1000 and 1030 chilterns to London from Kidderminster shown in their new summer timetable are not running tomorrow (23/05/2021) according to RTT, Bahn, national rail etc. One of these was supposed to be a silver train and one a dmu. Anyone know why the old timetable is still in use? (Yes I appreciate the class 68 hauled issues, but the dmu could run).

The line between Marylebone and South Ruislip is shut tomorrow for engineering works, mainline trains are being turned at West Ruislip

Hi guys,

From checking via the railcam at Princes Risborough can confirm the Saturday service was a 168 as mentioned above.
Today's diagram is a class 68 as per RRT info, just seen it on the cam about 20 mins ago included the business zone coach.

No idea yet how the weekend may be served.

After being DMU-operated for many weeks due to the ongoing class 68 issues, I'm pleased to report
that the above Saturday/Sunday services were loco-hauled this weekend.

The c.1935 arrival at Kidderminster and c.1955 ECS to Stourbridge Depot are a loco hauled silver set. The 68 hauled morning train starts at Stourbridge Junction.

A few of us are thinking about a day out around Birmingham in late August early September. Can anyone please inform me if the 1H48 Birmingham Moor street is normally a 68 turn? Likewise if the 1K50 Leamington Spar is normally a 68 turn. Is this normally a different loco to what works the 1H48?

Thanks.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but can anyone let me know if the 68s are out at the moment and running per the diagram in @CyrusWuff 's post / Chiltern website timetable please? Looking at catching 1R25 11.10 Marylebone - Birmingham this week if so.

Thanks

Yes - 68010 or 013 are the usual locos at the moment.
