I thought this might brighten some people's day, and I don't think anyone else around here has noticed it. There is a small electric private commuter railway in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, called the Choshi Electric Railway. It basically is permanently in the red, and has been struggling to find ways to survive. It has started to diversify away from being a purely railway-based operation, produced a variety of snacks, sweets, etc., which it sells via its website, is producing a film, and has also started a YouTube channel to try and make money that way. While most of the channel's content is purely in Japanese, there is one video, about the 'daily in the life' of a Choshi Railway guard, that has English subtitles.

Please do take a look:

And indeed, if you have the chance to visit this railway at some point in the future, please do so! They could use the money...

That railway is well worth a visit.

Even if you're on partial day layover passing through Narita Airport--since the airport is half way to the Choshi Railway from Tokyo. That's what I did one trip changing planes at Narita.
