I managed to catch a glimpse of it through gaps between houses while it was on its return journey, approaching Streatham Common. It was a few minutes earlier than expected and I hadn't quite reached my chosen viewing site 
. However it was only by good fortune that I saw it at all as I was expecting to hear "chuffing" to alert me to its approach.
