Been a busy couple of days, so only just getting round to asking. Saw (I think) a Class 09 on the back a truck going Northbound on the the Newmarket bypass (around where the A11 splits off) at about half 3 in the afternoon. Anyone know where it might have been going, or might have come from?

09 is quite specific. Did you see a number ? If not how could you differentiate it from a class 08 ?

No idea why it has moved. This is Thursdays news article in full from WNXX

“Shunter movements/notes...
Regarding 08417 (QADD) moved from Derby RTC to Peak Rail yesterday, it has been advised that it is still a Network Rail machine but which will be made available for sale at some point. 08588 (MRSO), that also left Derby RTC yesterday, has been deposited at Great Yarmouth. 08809 (MRSO) which has been at Toton for tyre turning, left Toton today, by road transfer back to Ketton. Due to GBRf taking over the Old Dalby/Asfordby operation the shunting devices at the site have changed. Out from Asfordby go HNRC supplied 08892 (HNRL) & 08956 (CDJD), by road, to Worksop and Barrow Hill respectively, while RSS provided 08580 & 08922 (both MBDL) have arrived from Marcroft at Stoke and the Chasewater Railway respectively.”
