i guess you cant trust googleThat damage to 156489 wasn't caused by a collision with a 141, that accident damage was from an incident at Crosby Garratt in 1999.
Well done for digging that up, I couldn’t find anything when I looked. Not my picture but this appears to show the damage to 141104. It looks to have broken the body away from the chassis.

It was fairly recently refurbished when the accident happened. You can also look for 141003 for it in unrefurbished state. It was one of the original blue and grey units but was painted in green and cream by the time it entered service. It was the only 141 I never worked as I joined the railway after it was withdrawn.
As additional information, disposal dates for the units known to have been scrapped are:I will try to give a summary of what information that i have and can find.
Here is the current status of all of them:
• 141 001 (141 102) - Iran
• 141 002 (141 103) - Scrapped
• 141 003 (141 104) - Scrapped
• 141 004 (141 105) - Iran
• 141 005 (141 106) - Netherlands
• 141 006 (141 107) - Iran
• 141 007 (141 108) - Preserved (Colne Valley Railway)
• 141 008 (141 109) - Iran
• 141 009 (141 110) - Scrapped
• 141 010 (141 111) - Iran
• 141 011 (141 112) - Netherlands
• 141 012 (141 113) - Preserved (Midland Railway)
• 141 013 (141 114) - Iran
• 141 014 (141 115) - Iran
• 141 015 (141 116) - Iran
• 141 016 (141 117) - Iran
• 141 017 (141 118) - Iran
• 141 018 (141 119) - Iran
• 141 019 (141 120) - Iran
• 141 020 (141 101) - Scrapped
So that is:
12x Iran
4x Scrapped
2x Netherlands
2x Preserved
Thanks that is very usefulAs additional information, disposal dates for the units known to have been scrapped are:
141101/141020: Scraped at Wolverton works 07/2004, having arrived there from Doncaster works in 03/2003 after being bought by Cotswold Rail ostensibly as a source of spares for the Iranian units in 05/2000.
141103/141002: Scrapped at Wolsingham, Weardale Railway 03/2018.
141104/141003: Vehicle 55524 scrapped at Leeds Neville Hill depot 09/1993 following collision damage, vehicle 55504 met the same fate in 12/1993.
141110/141009: Scrapped at Wolsingham, Weardale Railway 03/2018.
No problem. It surprised me upon seeing DMUandEMU's list to realise that only four units of the class of twenty have been scrapped in this country, despite being withdrawn from service over twenty years ago. And of those four, one was due to irreparable accident damage early in its career and another two were after they had entered preservation. Thanks that is very useful
That's an interesting find, thanks for posting. This thread has piqued my curiosity and a little digging wiki says the export to the Netherlands both were scrapped in 2005

Never seen that livery in the 3rd photo before, thought they'd all kept raspberry ripple. Looks kinda neat tbh!

Came across them by chance (At the end of a freight line) when driving around Holland looking for class 58's and Euro Sheds. If I recall they got exported for a private operator. Private operator seen sense and order Stadler DMU's instead.

I keep meaning to link that rather interesting thread you started about how far class 141s got from Yorkshire @61653 HTAFC...Never seen that livery in the 3rd photo before, thought they'd all kept raspberry ripple. Looks kinda neat tbh!
Great pics - maybe a bid option when the ROSCO / DfT offered to donate some to community groups would have been to have pitched in with a bid to do a 142 in that Iranian livery? Maybe for some sort of pitch around international tolerance and understanding...
I would find it an interesting read. Bet it might be hard to come by now though? The December 1983 issue of Railway Magazine carried an in depth article about the introduction of Class 141s in West Yorkshire.

60017 involved in the collision wwith 156489.156489 was hit by a class 60 at Crosby Garrett after being derailed by a landslide.
From what I remember 156476 wasn’t too badly damaged by 141104 as it was low speed outside Huddersfield station.
Love the brushed metal finishNever seen that livery in the 3rd photo before, thought they'd all kept raspberry ripple. Looks kinda neat tbh!
