I belive it was 314205 I was on this evening for the 1815 Cathcart circle trip. Given that the 1745 Newton is now a 385 most days, people on the inner circle got to see the oldest and the newest EMUs within 30 mins of each other!

Quite a juxtaposition, though until they are all withdrawn I'd definitely go for the 314!

Hopefully indeed. Is the Neilston express still normally a 314 working then?

I think so. On the once or twice weekly occasion I'm on it, it seems to be and is always a 6-car version. Similarly the 0820 Neilston - GLC express is a 314 working most of the time I've been on it over the past few weeks.

Thank you very much; good to know for the near future!

Did see a 6 car 320 on it once , not sure how often 320s or 318s go up the Neilston branch

The morning express from Neilston departs at 0807 and is a 380.

The departure previous to this departs at 0755 and AFAIK should be a 6 car 314.

ScotRail own the 314 fleet outright now. Seemingly part of the compensation from Angel for the HST delays. So it'll be up to ScotRail whether any get preserved I imagine.

Love to see one kept i working order , shame they could not do that to 303

If you keep one in working order, where would you work it? There seems little point in preserving an emu for it to be hauled around dead.

All a bit of a bigger problem with powered door stock. Would be expensive mods to allow a loco to be made compatible to power the doors

Dear Snookertam,

Apologies, I hop on at Muirend at 0820. Time tabling error at my end!

Was pretty sure it ws a 380 before - is that still the case?

Also, other queries re 318/320s - there is a 6 car working in both peaks to/from Neilston.

This afternoon 314205 worked the 14.45 to Newton
314214 worked the 15.08 ecs from Glasgow central - crosshill then from crosshill - central via the outer circle.
314202 worked the 15.15 Cathcart inner circle service

Heard 202 go past, sounded a bit weird though as if a motor was out or on the frizz.

Earlier today ScotRail said on Twitter that only 5 314s remain in service. Does this mean that one of the units recently described as in service has now been stored?

Unless I've missed a more recent list, these were the units given as serviceable just over a week ago:

314202/203/205/207/209/210/214/216

Certainly I saw 314203, 207, 210, 214 and 216 out early last week.

Possibly these are the 5 units ScotRail refer to with 202, 205 and 209 now stored?

That might just be the twitter team's way of saying there's 5 diagrams left, although I would be surprised if they keep 8 units to cover 5 diagrams right through until December.

I would be equally surprised if they get the full compliment of 385s in advance of December that they would leave them lying around spare whilst the last 314s rattled away.

It is possible though - I think they have a headache regarding what to do with the Neilston peak services. I'm not sure there's enough class 318/320s to form 2x6 car workings currently worked by 314s, and 380/385 are restricted to single units due to the turnback, so running the 314s longer buys some time to deal with that. It might need a bit of a diagram/timetable recast if they don't want to remodel the station.

202 and 205 have certainly been out lately, not sure about 209.

Well bang goes that theory!

That seems more likely, I was sure I'd seen more than only 5 units about.

There are now 4 or 5 units at Yoker, a couple having arrived recently following the departure of the 365s. Not sure exactly which ones are there though.
