First of the 317/7s are off for scrap tomorrow. Ex-demo set 317722 will be off to Eastleigh Works for disposal by Raxstar
Surprised it has lasted so long to be honest! When did it last carry passengers?

Take it Newport is not accepting anything until Tuesday now? Or is Monday not a Bank Holiday in Wales?

I've updated post #454. Long term demic 317504 and 317512 are back in service. Not looking so good for the 317/7. The last one was 317719 on Friday 28th. None have worked since that I know of. They'll struggle to cover the 20 diagrams with 23 units.

I rode 317 507 from Tottenham Hale to Stratford last Saturday, May 22nd. I did not even have to let a 379 go by first. My only disappointment was that, just as I had sat down, an ex-London Overground pulled into the other platform heading to Liverpool Street.

Still, I am delighted to have had an excuse to ride a 317 as late as 2021. They may be much harder to track down next year.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if their dispensation expired and GA or the DfT are refusing to extend it, which I don’t understand given they’re more compliant than their large 321 fleet (albeit they’re actively in the process of being replaced).

It's mind boggling. All the 317s are booked to run in pairs. There are/were only six active 317/7 so pairing them with a compliant unit at all times is very easy.

Exactly - all of the /6s and other non-compliant 317s are either at Ely or have been scrapped. Especially with passenger numbers seeing a large increase, this will not play out well for WAML services...

What’s the status of the ex-Overground /8s? Any chance those will come back?

890 was scrapped a while ago, the others are still at Ely Papworth but I highly doubt they'll be returning as they aren't PRM compliant.

I guess GA can bring back non PRM-compliant units to form a train as long as it is attached to a PRM compliant unit. That's what is happening with the 321's on the GEML. All the non PRM compliant 321's are being attached to a Renatus 321 or an ex-Northern 321/9 or 322 to ensure the service is PRM compliant.

It's pleasing to note that short formations on West Anglia have reduced almost to zero with the return of these four units. Common sense prevails for once. I think all 27 of the PRM units are now up and running.

I saw 317.881 at Liverpool Street on 11th June when I got off the train. I didn't see what was attached at the other end. But you know that isn't in LO livery
Was unit 881 ever with London Overground?

According to post #501, 729 & 732 are already there
So why are they shown in the consist of this train then on trust, as i can only go by what's shown on the system, its up to the human to put the correct details in, so they might not already be there! There looks to be an error somewhere then folks.
