Thanks!

It’s certainly going to be amusing if 37800 is scrapped eventually, having hauled so many units to their doom...
What amuses me is that a class of units being towed away for scrap by a locomotive that was doing passenger duties twenty years before the units were built.

Not really. 37800 was D6843/37143 in old money and rarely worked passenger trains. The class 37 website only has 43 known passenger workings, on 23 different days, in its whole lifetime.

Looks like the 317s that went to Newport last week have met their end. Some pics have emerged from the site showing only two carriages left with one on its side!

I still think it’s a miracle that the bulk of the ex-GN units survived longer than their 365s… who would’ve thought?

Looks like the 09:10 Liverpool Street - Stansted Airport is going to be a 720. Usually I thought a pair of 317s would stand in. Interesting to see how cramped it is

Those of us over here in GA land are wondering how they've outlived the 379s. They would have been preferable to those awful Renatus 321s. And yes I know, leasing costs and reasons.
Nice to see old BR stock battling on though, no-one would have predicted 315s, 317s or 321s still serving Liverpool St in 2022.

317347+317881 have gone to Cambridge on 5G44 today. The former was in service on Friday. Ironically they are back up to five pairs out in traffic today just as they are throwing six units in the bin.

Looks like todays move hasn’t run. Shame to see 347 go as it’s a loud one
5G44 ran 1037 London liverpool Street to Cambridge. Which sadly will go tommorow to Ely sidings in the afternoon. On the 07th June. However with 10 units out today. Was it wise to withdraw 317347 early. Especially as it was a good runner.?

It appears that 340 has suffered a graffiti attack. Part of the paintwork actually says RIP 317

Is that one of the ones in storage at Ely?
Not yet but it's finishing at Ilford tonight. No doubt they'd have to wash off the grafitti anyway. Can't have a dirty train going for scrap can we?

317339 is still in service as far as I know today was yesterday.
Also 317886 317884 no longer in service final night at Cambridge before going to Ely for storage. However only 13 left now in passenger service.
Will be 11 by the end of this week.
Leaving 6 to 8 for passenger service.
With the rest for spare/reserve etc.

317339 Confirmed in traffic from a very reliable source friend of mine who had it for haulage today on the 2039 1609 Hertford East to London liverpool Street.

That’s the door closed on 317/8 then, which joins 317/6 and 317/7 in the history books.

Yes I know they’re all officially designated as /1 and /2. Leave me alone.
