Class 325 'ELECTRIC UNIT' West Highland Line

They're dual voltage EMUs.

I'm surprised they've been cleared for the WHL, what's the reason for them going up it?

I'm going out on a limb to guess it's something to do with moving post that way by rail. I bet the gradients on the roads that way don't do the fuel bills for trucks any favours. Good luck to GBRf with this if it's possibly a contract they get, now all we need is a loco failure and a nearby Class 37 the rescue!

well actually... they were just used to add weight to a route familiarisation run for GBRf before taking over the Fort William Alcan run from DB Schenker.

As 90019 said there dual voltage and there body design is similar to the 'Networker' family.

Only the cab is of the Networker-style design, the bodies are Mk III derived more akin to Cl 317-322 and have similar powertrain.

Yes, because as said in a previous post they have a 'Networker' design cab but MK3 Body shell as used on Class 319s, Class 317s, etc.. .
