350122 off to Long Marston today for corrosion repairs. No doubt 350125 will come back.

I do wonder if they could retain 110's unique livery until the very last whilst just tidying up the dirty (old LM) vinyls on it's end vehicles with a temporary scheme.

It's probably gonna get done someday, but should be left until last.

From when I've seen it, 350110's livery appears to be in fairly good condition compared to some of the other ex-LM liveried 350s (even some of the new LNWR vinyls on the 350/3s are peeling in places)

350112 has gone for corrosion repairs today. 350122 should come back.

350117 has had internal refurb, but retains battered LM livery.

How come LNR aren’t applying the vinyls at the same time the corrosion repair’s happening (like with 106 before it was stripped)?

Is it normal for 3 units to be refurbished at the same time?

if not whats the usual? 1 350/1 per week?

Good news is by the time 118 and 102 are done 50% of the fleet interiors will be complete!

Wow! They certainly are cracking on with the refurb now!
How many units can they do within a week?

Progress has been great. Only 10 units left with now blue silverlink/central trains interior. End of an era.

I'm a bit confused with the London Northwestern internal refurbishments.

There's still an occasional train around with the very threadbare original seats (light purple) but I've also seen carriages with what looks like all the seats recovered in the familiar green material. Every seat in a carriage re-done in fresh green material rather than just 1 or 2 seats.

Then there's the full interior refurbished carriages from earlier this year (dark grey seats and power points) but I've also seen carriages with fully refurbished seats in dark blue. What's the story behind the dark blue theme? These seats seem freshly done and cleaner in some cases than the new dark grey theme.

The dark blue ones aren't refurbed, they're the ex-TransPennine Express units (350/4).

The green ones are the newer ex-LM units (350/3).

The first picture in your post is the refurbished interior (grey seats and LCD information displays).

Sorry to say this, but I hate it. To my eyes, the colours are drab and already look faded and dirty with just a short time in service, while the diamonds look like they are trying their best to be unobtrusive and completely failing. I'd rather have the London Midland design back.
The scheme used on West Midlands Railway branded units, is far superior in my opinion, as demonstrated in this excellent photo by Peter Skuce on Wikipedia (in this case it's a 172 but the same design is also seen on 323s albeit inexplicably in a different colour):

Incidentally I also took a look at the photos in post 388 - is it me, or do the first class seats look inferior to the standard ones??

Most people seem to think that, and I agree. If I ended up with a First Class advance, I wouldn't bother.

Yes, they are, and always have been. The best seats on a 2+2 layout 350 are found in the cab end section, you've got a choice of two rows of extra legroom airline seats and a table at proper First Class spacing (unlike the actual First Class). All seats in this area (there's one at each end) are markedly superior to any seat in First Class, unless you've got a thing about curtains and table lamps or like armrests so high that you're sat permanently shrugging your shoulders.

Interestingly, that area is First Class on the 360s!

I genuinely don't get why they don't do a proper 2+1 First Class. Given the low level of their dedicated fares, I'd choose this over using Avanti - the comfort would by far outweigh a longer journey. Or just get rid of it, as it really is a sham.

(Just wait for the Aventras! The 2+2 seated units will also have 2+2 in First and the appalling Fainsa Sophia in First (a new-to-the-UK Kiel seat that looks far better than the Fainsas in Standard), so inferior to the seats in Standard by a far greater margin than the present situation! :) )

350 101 now in full LNWR livery.
Coincidence how thats the first unit in full livery /1 in passenger service?

At least we now finally have the first fully completed LNR unit inside and out. Great progress being made.

Saw a 350 complete with the original threadbare seats today, first time in ages.

Let's hope the external refurbishment includes this particular carriage as seen in January...

Refurbishment currently not happening on 350231-267 as those 37 trains (ie the 350/2's with the green 3+2 squash seating) - these are being returned to Porterbrook, the leasing company once the new trains arrive from Bombardier. Say that, you'd think Porterbrook would at least spend some money on properly removing the scruffy previous (London Midland) branding & tidying their trains up ready for whoever the next owner is.

The rest of the fleet (/1s) 101-130, (/3s) 368-377 and (/4s) 401-410 are owned by Angel Trains leasing, and will be staying.
