That's doesn't quite add up to twelve...
12 units would be the whole /5 fleet. More likely 3 units 12 coaches.

"12 377" is what wouldve been shown on stock working/diagrams etc.
Fair enough then, thanks for the clarification, didn't know that.

TBM Rail Carriage Refurbishment
17 July 2017
TBM Rail commences major carriage refurbishment
Crewe-based TBM Rail has begun a complete refurbishment of passenger grab poles, rails and handles for the Southern (GTR) fleet of Class 377 vehicles.
The upgrade work involves sand-blasting the old polyester layers, before applying a new coating of Nylon R-AG from TBM Rails powder-coating partner, Omnikote.
The project will see nearly 700 carriages overhauled across three years, with vehicles only out of traffic for a week to lessen the impact on service users.
The Cheshire passenger comfort specialist supplied coatings for Southerns carriage fittings seven years ago, but increasing customer numbers now demands tougher, harder-wearing surfaces.
Neil Smith, TBM Rail director, said: We were asked to source and provide a solution to the ageing polyester coatings that in todays climate are no longer fit for purpose.
Rail passengers quite rightly demand higher carriage standards. Chipped and damaged poles and handles is not acceptable. Nylon R-AG is resistant to most damage.
Train operators are under pressure on many levels, so raising carriage standards is a step in the right direction.
Our industry experience and partnership with Omnikote has enabled us to deliver a top product that will last, look good and prevent costly mid-franchise repairs.
Securing the contract to work with Southern again shows the confidence in our products and services.
The upgrade affects all three and four-unit class 377 sets that operate on Southern services.
TBM Rail will also replace rubber, silicone and neoprene gaskets during the refurbishment
I quite liked this line "The Cheshire passenger comfort specialist supplied coatings for Southerns carriage fittings seven years ago, but increasing customer numbers now demands tougher, harder-wearing surfaces". Coming from Desiro land where the interior panels still look like new, I find it funny that this will be the 377s third refurbishment already. Not least the increasing passenger numbers / increasing passenger vandalism?

Was probably done on the cheap before.....
two 377/5s are in selhurst shed getting "some work done".
WiFi installation I'm told.
God forbid Southeastern finally get them
but for which TOC?!!!
They have no depot space apparently...unless that has all changed
I was told they can take around 10 extra no problem. Around 20 would mean £2 million depot upgrade. More than that (as was expected late 2017) has an unknown cost - probably too high until the next franchise.
But 10 stabled at Victoria should be no problems and even 20 is low-ish cost.
well 377502 and 512 were coupled together in selhurst depot today if that says anything....
that 377's can be coupled together in a depot? I'm sure you will see many formations in depot's that don't exist in passenger service
Given that one is leased to SE and one isn't...ha ha yeh, im just wonder if thats a sign lol
when is the last run for these on TL? imagine it will be much more subdued than the 319s !!
however they have actually seen just short of a decade on Thameslink duties
Apparently these are still in service another week and will finish next Sunday.
It probably will be more subdued but I will miss the 377s more than the 319s and hopefully they get a good send off. Could somebody 'in the know' kindly post the diagrams for the 377s this week/weekend?
