Class 397 TPE "Nova 2" Diagrams

Lengthening them would require a track layout change wouldn't it

Assuming it's only Manchester Airport that's an issue (which is a reasonable assumption as 11-car Pendolinos serve everywhere else it serves other than Lockerbie which I think has a fairly long platform) they could add a second unit at Preston for the WCML bit which tends to be busier. Preston has the platform space and sidings to handle this.

I thought that the busiest section was between Preston and Manchester.

The platforms certainly look quite long but one or even carriages be off the end that be the problem

Back on topic for this thread (being as it's about diagrams) does anyone know what they are likely to be (cancellations aside) for Saturday? Going to have another attempt.

I was told that this Saturday will see the same diagrams operated as Mon-Fri(can't be fully correct as some of the trains don't run.....)
A tad sceptical that will happen and experience would say might be worth until you see what's allocated as things get altered very late on.

On the other 397 thread (in which I erroneously posted about diagrams confusing it with this one) it was suggested that the Edinburgh diagrams varied from day to day because it's a multi-day circuit for each unit, though?

Bump...anyone know the diagrams for tomorrow (Saturday)? It would be Manchester to Preston/Lancaster/Oxenholme/Penrith depending on the calling pattern.

As said the plan for tomorrow is to run the Mon-Fri diagram.
On the EDB circuit we don't run 1M95 on a Saturday so the Unit is generally swopped mid shift to get it to Longsight.
It isn't unusual for changes on a Saturday thus the caution advised regardless of what's planned on the Friday for Saturday!!

Today only the Glasgow diagram ran.

Do you know if they are both still out? I notice that both 1S71 and 1S75 are starting from Preston, if either/both of those are 397s I might be able to catch one for a short ride.

006 100,% was due to.
003 got looped at Abington to get 1M96 in front of 1M97 as it was hoped to put 1M96 passengers on 1M97 when it got spun at Preston so 003 was staying in traffic(believe 1M97 then got delayed at Carlisle so was being spun at Preston).

0905 Manchester airport to Glasgow was due to be 397005 but terminated at Preston due to crew shortage I should have been on it but had to put up with a 185 instead

005 was on 1S38.l diagram
Both are North side of Hest Bank closure.

Saw this passing BON on its Northbound journey 1S83, strangely it was only displaying Preston not Edinburgh. Anyone know why this was the case?

The full timetable is in relation to 802s - final two diagrams added in bringing 13 802s into daily use. Nothing to do with 397s.

Are any out today (presumably on modified diagrams due to the line closure at Carlisle)? Might be nice to grab one between Lancaster/Preston and Manchester if viable. Should be quieter than usual too!

The route is open fully and both normal 397 diagrams are out.
