Can't remember the number, but that 456 was refurbed at Selhurst (happened
to have a tour of the depot while it was there. At that point (mid May)
only the cabs were in shiny NSE, presumably they found some tins of the
paint somewhere!
Code:
Hi all
This was 456.002 with the "new" paintwork. Looked
rather nice too. Caught me by surprise whilst I was
waiting for 16.43 LB-GU and managed to grab a shot of
it - didn't notice the interior though
And yes, it's STILL in NSE
RobertA
Code:
456006 is the one
Mick
Code:
6006 is the unit which has had an extended stay at Wolverton.

All other units are going through a 'refresh' program at the present.

Code:
It appears there are a few 456's with new interior (Seat Moccett at
least), So far I have heard of 6021, 6002 and 6016 if this is true,
they are being done a a fair rate as I only thought I noticed this a
couple of weeks back as one sped past me on the Down Slow near ECR.

Wow! :), nice work by Selhurst, managing to fit out the new seating moquette
if only they had a bucket of paint and repaint them into Southern Green Livery!

There is a repaint programme going ahead soon IIRC.

I believe the unit involved in Continental is 9456 which is a Thameslink unit on loan to Southern so I doubt they will touch the livery. That said one of the Southern green units has now got First Capital Connect on the side :s

Make that Two :(
9003 and 9007 :(
but 9214 was one of the 319s to be repainted in Continental Livery,
I have not seen the unit yet

9002 is broke now, it's Traction Motor caught fire at East Croydon forcing platform 1 and 2 to close, 9002 is to be taken for Selhurst for repairs
hmm, i reckon 319431 could be used , unless FCC stops it for an Exam

Never heard (or seen) 319s with the Southern-style number systems. The only things using that now AFAIK are the 458s, 442s, some 455s and the Lymington CIGs (and of course the VEP but that isn't used in passenger service).

We've been here before. Does it really matter, especially as you know what he's on about?

Voyagers don't go around with the word 'Vomit' stuck to the side of them, but people still refer to them as Vomit's...

Yes, but they can't get confused, unlike say 9002 which is actually a loco!
[EDIT]

That is corrct. Refurb 455's are loosing there Southern Numbers, leaving 458's 460's (with 2 less numbers) CIG's, VEP & 442's

The SWT 455s are keeping their 4 digit codes too. At least the first few did.

And on an aside people calling Voyagers 'Vomits' is annoying at best. It's not like 'Tractor' where the nickname has some meaning. The 22xs do not sound like someone vomiting, nor do they look like vomit.

depends how much you've been drinking. Watching red and grey whoosh passed...:)

seriously though, its purely childish to talk about trains in such context. Why does whether someone likes a loco or not have to be involved in every discussion they have about it?
