Unless I am going completely nuts the motor noises of the class 700 fleet have changed significantly in the last week or so.

Particularly noticeable at St. Pancras because of the existing issues with noise there. There is a completely new additional “dull” motor noise.

Can anyone else confirm this to be the case or have a reason it has happened?

Thanks

The track may have had the rail grinder run over it.

Thanks for raising this as I have noticed it too. Would be good to know what has changed as it’s a real and overdue improvement.

Weekend before last, the core was shut for amongst other things, rail grinding. The grinder was parked at Kentish town most off Sunday. Would love to see a pic of it at low level.

Heard the same on the GN side. Trains now sound like 317s!
