Is this not just a PIS setting error by the crew? Or is it actually a software problem?
Personally I've witnessed just as many of SWRs other classes with similar problems.
Funny enough I'm currently on 700147 heading north arriving at Blackfriars. Oh no wait, apparently it's Haywards Heath.20180502_142010.jpg

I was on a pair of 707 this morn, approaching vw (heading to London) the guard asked anyone for vw at the rear of the train to move forward to coach 5. I'd like to have seen anyone manage that! Human error there though.

just short staffing on GTRs part.

Thameslink have always had some strange aversion to washing trains, no matter which company was running the franchise. The ex-Brighton Express 319 subclass seemed in good condition before they moved, it didn't take long for them to be filthy. Likewise when Southern 377s moved to First Capital Connect - Southern may have many problems but stock appearance and cleanliness isn't one of them. So it seems to be an area or depot thing rather than GTR as a whole, it's long been like this.

707029 is now wearing SWT’s new “urban” livery, with the help of an unnamed “artist” or two

Yes, Southeastern have an extensive repaint programme in progress by presumably the same "artist". Could this be the start of a common livery for Saaaaarrrth of the River?

It was only in reply to a question about what was replacing the 707s. I don’t expect repeating the numbers was intended to be read as new or changed info...
Yes, I was merely pointing out the tally with their original number, it wasn't intended to be read as a beration for repetition. ;)

These trains are lovely but their PIS system is incredibly poor. It has already been mentioned but I just wanted to second earlier posts along the same line.
And the seats are uncomfortable, the seating layout is cramped, there is nowhere to put a coffee let alone do any work due to the lack of seat back or proper tables, the heating always seems to be far too hot and they don't like coupling or uncoupling. I doubt that is a complete list either. A lot of people seem fairly happy they aren't here to stay on the SWR network.

Well... they are more comfortable and with better legroom than the 455s; are you comparing them to the 450s and 458s?

Certainly when I am on my way home to Epsom I always hold back for one of the four evening peak workings that are 707s rather than 455s because the 707s are miles better than the 455s.

Personally I find the seats on 455s much more comfortable, but they also don't have much legroom. The 707s directly replaced 458s mainly, which were far more comfortable in my opinion.

Is generally agree with that, particularly on hot summer days I'd rather be on a 707 than a 455.
The 707s haven't had much experience with hot days so far, but they weren't brilliant in the mini heatwave we had a while back. The 455s are horrific when it gets really got, but the 707s were also too warm a few weeks back when it was hot, hopefully that is sorted before the summer.

Same here, I usually hit about a dozen or so 700s/707s whenever I have a travelcard, and I've always found the temp to be fine. If anything a little too cool on a 700 once or twice but that's about it.

On my commutes, I've had the misfortune of the aircon packing up on multiple occasions!

More IT woes this morning as 7020 has decided I’m in coach 8 of 5.

I wonder what it'll do if it gets coupled up today. Probably say it's a 5 car.

Under the old 458 diagrams, it ran:

2S13
2S22
2V23
2R29
Attach to 2S36
2V37
2R43
2S53 & return
Probably another rounder after that

However my paperwork is now 18 months out of date so anything is possible
