Feeling sure that I've seen long ago that the idea will be it needs 9 diagrams- as does the full 4tph Stansted service.perhaps the new timetable will be a 4.5 hour cycle requiring 9 units.
90% fleet use is particularly bold with small fleets

out of interest what is the loco acting as a thunderbird?
106 on 0940 LivSt Stansted Apt today. The level boarding on downside at Stortford pretty impressive. Still a bit of a gap but vast improvement on the big gap and step up/down on 379s / 317s
It's 10 diagrams, there's a half hour turnaround at each end.But Norwich is a 4 hour round trip so that will require 8 diagrams to provide a 2tph service. Without significant reliability improvements it isn't going to happen.
Only if you can produce a timetable that meets that spec. There are other services that need to fit in too. It is currently a 5 hour round trip requiring 10 diagrams, so perhaps the new timetable will be a 4.5 hour cycle requiring 9 units.
But you see my point. In fact that's even worse. They're barely going to be able to do any maintenance during weekdays. And going by their track record they'll need all the depot time they can getIt's 10 diagrams, there's a half hour turnaround at each end.
Well then it'll be 720's subbing in for Norwich/Stanex depending on which subfleet has the lack of availability. It does seem a little ambitious given the required service on both sides, maybe theres a big shake up coming with the timetable, or theyre planning on squeezing some extra time out of the turnarounds, there are likely efficiencies that can be made that will no doubt be part of the wider new fleet plansBut Norwich is a 4 hour round trip so that will require 8 diagrams to provide a 2tph service. The plan is 9 diagrams. Tightening of timings which the 745s enable will allow a diagram to be saved, or that's the plan. So 9 from 10 on both fleets. But you see my point. In fact that's even worse. The original diagram plan was based on both WA and GE timetable recast. Was originally due May 2020. View attachment 81941WA now not expected until Dec 2021 earliest, to coincide with East Coast recast as that affects KX/Thameslink - Cambridge. GE no one knows.
Pair of 379s divided apparently.anyone know what is working 1210 LivSt Stansted today? Been at a stand between Sawbridgeworth and Stortford for 90+ mins

What, the couplers unintentionally parted in service? I didn't know that was common on 379s.again
He means they split up a pair of 379s to run two diagrams to replace the 745 one and keep running the original 379 diagram. Unless you're joking? in which case its customary to use an emoji or emoticon. What, the couplers unintentionally parted in service? I didn't know that was common on 379s.
The electrostars had an issue fairly recently with splitting in service, can't remember when but it was fairly recently. He means they split up a pair of 379s to run two diagrams to replace the 745 one and keep running the original 379 diagram. He means nothing of the sort. The 379s parted in service. RAIB investigations ongoing. He means they split up a pair of 379s to run two diagrams to replace the 745 one and keep running the original 379 diagram. Unless you're joking? in which case its customary to use an emoji or emoticon.
So I am correct in my original interpretation that this is why the train was stuck at Sawbridgeworth? Because two Electrostars parted in service? He means nothing of the sort. The 379s parted in service. RAIB investigations ongoing.
That's how I read @dk1 post and he has just confirmed. So I am correct in my original interpretation that this is why the train was stuck at Sawbridgeworth? Because two Electrostars parted in service?
Sorry, I'm a little confused at the moment with everybody seemingly having a different idea of what's happening

AH. Sorry there. Completely misunderstood all that. This being the Class 745 thread completely threw me off.So I am correct in my original interpretation that this is why the train was stuck at Sawbridgeworth? Because two Electrostars parted in service?

Perhaps someone could set up a thread for StanEx discucion if 745/1 operations start becoming affected a lot by that.
Not necessary. Someone posted an RTT link showing a StanEx service being disrupted and asked if it was a 745 at fault, and this would be a fair thread to do that in. It was not, and the real reason was then cited.AH. Sorry there. Completely misunderstood all that. This being the Class 745 thread completely threw me off.

A pair of 745s on Stansted diagrams today - 106 and 107
Looks like they ironed out the initial issues then.
Strange to be on a Stansted service holding a steady speed.
Is it my imagination or is the Roydon LC slow to clear?
