Class 777 Delivery

Anyone happen to know when the first Class 777's will be delivered to Merseyrail ?

I'll be 'home' over the New Year and was rather hoping to see them being tested.

First unit is due to go to Wildenrath for testing fairly soon. Second unit will then go directly to Merseyside for local testing towards the end of the year.

Bearing in mind the Stadler drama over in East Anglia.....is there any practical (as opposed to financial) deadline for 777 introduction- ie if it goes wrong can the 508s continue for quite a while (only the scrapman is waiting....)

Haha they best had, itll be a long time before you see a 777 in passenger service.

Seems to have taken an age to get these trains. Deadlines seem to be put back and back and back again.

I'm sure this whole process is at least a decade old now.

The way Merseytravel operates, we'll have to start thinking about the Class 777s' replacements soon enough.
