Started the day top and tail to help with the positioning I believe at Whitacre, then ran around in Daw Mill so all locos at front of the convoy. Six hundred tons in tow so would need the extra power so probadly just extra assurance. They also needed extra seats available for the men to shovel the coal out at Rugeley if the doors on the wagons didn't work:razz:

That 1st page could be a dayout in the late 1990's (in terms of traction and not liveries ;)), brilliant stuff.
