So Network rail did some clearance work between thursday and saturday in Orrell and it appears they gutted a few birds nests cleared some trees and then installed a "easy access suicide rail" basically they've made it far easier to gain access to the Kirkby line and to jump infront of a train when i pointed this out to the contractor (off the record) they chuckled and agreed...

Meaning is clear to me - easier access for trespassers.

it's the bridge next to the station upholland bound (visible from orrell station) they cleared all the shrubbery either side of the path making it easier to lean over the bridge and then they erected a partial ledge to lean on it's a very odd layout and i'm rather puzzled as to why Murphys/Network rail did the job never mind the butchering of the Birds nests which is just tasteless and crude
