Not so, as after leaving Aberthaw High Level, we passed through three open stations on that line, then took the junction that led (as stated in the journey preamble) to the Barry Railway Cadoxton to Trehafod line, where we now seek the first closed station.
GENERAL INFORMATION
In my researches into the start of this line, there appeared a station name of St Y Nyll Halt which was only open from July to November in 1905, but I am not sure if it came before or after the closed station of Wenvoe.
We set off from the open station of Trehafod to access this Taff Vale Railway Rhondda Fawr Line......There are four closed stations on this line before that station named above is reached.
That was already posted two lines ago when we were on the Vale of Glamorgan Railway.
Guide Note:-
We are about to commence upon the penultimate line of this journey (see the journey preamble) which then meets the final leg on this journey in the Treherbert area.
Finally, we are on the penultimate line of the journey.....however one small point to bear in mind... Hafod preceded that station, but to continue....
Pandy
Tim, that one made me sit up sharply. It was quite a short-lived station, opened in 1865 and closed in 1870. The only trouble is that the station was on the Festiniog Railway, many miles to the north of our area.
