Congratulations to all concerned for finishing that journey within the time limit set and allowing for the change of order of the last four legs of the journey. I will now set the monster-length new journey that hopefully will keep everyone busy during our seven day holiday on the Isle of Wight.

We next move to England for the next journey.....

It then follows the line of the Scarborough and Whitby Railway
It then follows the line of the Y&NMR Scarborough to York Line
It then follows the line of the East and West Yorkshire Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the Pilmoor, Boroughbridge and Knaresborough Railway
It then follows the line of the Thirsk and Malton Railway
It then follows the line of the NER Gilling and Pickering Line
It then follows the line of the Forge Valley Line
It then follows the line of the NER Scarborough to Hull Line
It then follows the line of the NER Driffield to Selby Line
It then follows the line of the Great Northern Railway Main Line
It then follows the line of the GNR Essendine to Stamford Branch Line
It then follows the line of the Rugby and Stamford Railway
It then follows the line of the Northamptonshire Loop Line
It then follows the line of the London and Birmingham Railway
It then follows the line of the Northampton and Banbury Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the Stratford-upon-Avon and Midland Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the GWR Honeybourne Line
It then follows the line of the Cotswold Line
It then follows the line of the Ledbury and Gloucester Railway
It then follows the line of the Cheltenham and Great Western Union Railway
It then follows the line of the Midland and South Western Junction Railway

It then follows the line of the Portishead Railway

The journey ends at the closed station of Weston-Super-Mare Ashcombe Road

The first closed station on this journey is Tweedmouth

There were two stations on this site, 1847 to 1887 and 1887 to 1980. However they were very close to each other so I think they only count as one.

I presume we now join the Durham Coast Line so avoiding the the former heavy rail stations that have now become Metro stops....

I think Pelaw is worth further investigation - it seems to have had a most complicated history. There have been at various times three stations on the main line that we just traversed, all physically separate from the metro station which is on a different new alignment to the south.
