Just been exploring (virtually speaking) the Ticknall Tramway, which had an interchange siding with the Melbourne Line just north of the Ashby Tunnel.

PS - I think the last but one station is Shepshed. I only mention it because my dad's family farmed there for several generations, way back before the coming of the railway.

We next move to Wales for the next journey.....

This is number 729 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Llanberis
It follows the line of the Carnarvonshire Railway Llanberis Branch Line
It then follows the line of the Bangor and Carnarvon Railway...note 1st and 2nd stations
It then follows the line of the Chester and Holyhead Railway
It then follows the line of the GWR Chester to Shrewsbury Line
It then follows the line of the Shrewsbury and Wellington Joint Railway
It then follows the line of the Shropshire Union Railways and Canal Company
It then follows the line of the Stafford and Uttoxeter Railway
It then follows the line of the LNWR Ashbourne Line
The journey ends at the closed station of Higher Buxton

The first closed station on this journey is Llanberis
