I had an enforced couple of days off this week so it gave me a chance to look into the journey and learn a bit about it.

We next move to England for the next journey.....

This is number 742 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Longridge
It follows the line of the Preston and Longridge Railway
It then follows the line of the North Union Railway
It then follows the line of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway... note 1st and 2nd stations
It then follows the line of the Warrington and Newton Railway
It then follows the line of the Birkenhead Joint Railway
It then follows the line of the CLC West Cheshire Line
It then follows the line of the CLC Mid-Cheshire Line
It then follows the line of the GWR Chester to Shrewsbury Line
It then follows the line of the GWR Severn Valley Railway
It then follows the line of the GWR Stourport-on-Severn Branch Line
It then follows the line of the Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway
It then follows the line of the Cherwell Valley Line
It then follows the line of the Great Western Railway Main Line
It then follows the line of the Bristol and Exeter Railway... note 1st and 2nd stations
It then follows the line of the Cheddar Valley Line
It then follows the line of the East Somerset Railway
It then follows the line of the Wilts, Somerset and Weymouth Railway
It then follows the line of the WS&WR Devizes Branch Line
The journey ends at the closed station of Pans Lane Halt

The first closed station on this journey is Longridge

I am a tad confused here. I think that after Parkside (2nd station) should have been Parkside (1st station) then we continue via the currently open station of Newton le Willows and via the east to south chord at Earlestown to join the Newton and Warrington Railway - and so on to:

Vulcan Foundry Halt.
