Calverley & Rodley
Newlay and Horsforth
That, of course, would be the first station.....situated on a different site to the currently open station bearing the same station name.
Armley Canal Road?
Leeds Marsh Lane
It looks as though Barnbow was an ROF. A good find still worth remembering, I think, but not sure what the rules say.
I think that one closed station after Halton Dial has been overlooked....
Prior to that station was.....
Ridge Bridge (1912-1944)
I haven't found map evidence for the location of either of these stations. They were both close to the overbridge by which the A654 (Roman Road) crosses the railway. The best information I can find is that Roman Road (1840 - 1840) was just west of the bridge and that Ridge Bridge was sited conveniently for the local colliery which is east of the bridge, so in the absence of any other information I suggest that the order (coming from Leeds) should be Roman Ridge first, then Ridge Bridge. Alternatively Rule 4 could be applied since the exact locations aren't known, and only one of them claimed.
In answer, in 2019, a learned rail historian with connections to the archive section of the line in question gave his responses to a number of queries that were raised on the Leeds and Selby Railway including newer stations that were built on the line of this particular railway. One concerned the ROF station at Barnbow (1915-1924), where after the end of the First World War, there were a number of passenger trains open to use by the general public in the period of 1922 to 1924. so therefore, basing the use from 1922 onwards, it will be allowable to use Barnbow as a posting submission on this quiz.
Regarding the matter of the two stations raised above, coming from the Leeds direction, he is very clear in his view that Ridge Bridge would be met prior to Roman Road. Therefore both of these can be named on this quiz are they were two distinct stations and not the re-siting of one existing station.
Joan Croft Halt
Doesn’t Moss come before Joan Croft Halt?
It most certainly does, so to carry on from Joan Cross Halt......
Barnby Moor and Sutton
