We next move to Scotland for the next journey.....

This is number 769 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Plains
It follows the line of the Bathgate and Coatbridge Railway
It then follows the line of the Edinburgh and Bathgate Railway
It then follows the line of the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway
It then follows the line of the City of Glasgow Union Railway
It then follows the line of the Paisley Canal Line
It then follows the line of the Dalry and North Johnstone Line
It then follows the line of the Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway...via the Montgreenan loop line
It then follows the line of the Glasgow, Dumfries and Carlisle Railway
It then follows the line of the Caledonian Railway Main Line
It then follows the line of the Lancaster and Carlisle Railway
It then follows the line of the Ingleton Branch Line
It then follows the line of the "Little" North Western Railway
It then follows the line of the Leeds and Bradford Extension Railway...note 1st and 2nd stations
It then follows the line of the GNR Keighley to Queensbury Line
It then follows the line of the Halifax and Ovenden Junction Railway
The journey ends at the closed station of North Bridge

The first closed station on this journey is Plains

Hampshire (nearly a Hog)
Bathgate (Upper) (1849 to 1956)

(Noting that this station was about 300 yards north west of the western end of the current station, not 150 yards south of the eastern end as stated in the Wikipedia entry)

Drumshoreland?

We are now on the Edinburgh and Bathgate Railway, where that station named above is on (it has also been named Broxburn prior to closure) and attached to my hard copy draft is a "queried" note stating three closed stations prior to that:-
Livingston (1st station ... 1849-1948)
Dechmont
Uphall
(1st station ... 1849-1956).....It may have also been known as Houston

Let us now continue, after those, on the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway.....

Remenber that from here, we travel in the Glasgow direction.

All of those closed stations on the E&B look good to me, although Uphall first station was only about 150 yards west of the current one.
