Bonnyrigg is the final closed station on this journey.

Did anyone notice that both the first and last stations on this journey ended in ....rigg.

One might get to toying with the potential ultimate in exercises of this kind. How about (forgetting about "open" and "closed") -- Kinbrace [Sutherland] to Meole Brace [Shropshire] ;) ?

We next move to England for the next journey.....

This is number 1087 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Gilling
It follows the line of the NER Gilling and Pickering Line
It then follows the line of the Forge Valley Line
It then follows the line of the Y&NMR York to Scarborough Line
It then follows the line of the Scarborough and Whitby Railway
It then follows the line of the Whitby, Redcar and Middlesbrough Union Railway
It then follows the line of the Cleveland Railway
It then follows the line of the Middlesbrough and Guisborough Railway
It then follows the line of the NER Esk Valley Line ...link line only, no closed stations
It then follows the line of the NY&C Battersby to Picton Line
It then follows the line of the LNR Eaglescliffe to Northallerton Line
It then follows the line of the Wensleydale Railway
The journey ends at the closed station of Wensley

The first closed station on this journey is Gilling
