Info from Chelsea Fatboy on WNXX and Trains gen tonight.

CONFIRMED INFO - NOT RUMOUR!

I have been advised by FM Rail tonight that due to uncertainty over paths
along the privately owned Boulby branch the destination of shuttle trips on
23/24 September from Darlington (part of the Community Rail Festival) has
been CHANGED and the trains will now operate from DARLINGTON DIRECT TO
REDMIRE via the little used Northallerton and Leeming Bar line.

There is now just ONE run Saturday and ONE run Sunday departing Darlington
at 13.15 and arriving back at 17.35. Traction will be FM Rail Class 31s.
Ticket prices are £15 adults, £10 junior return, bookings via Hertfordshire
RT on 01438 718125.

The Wensleydale Railway have agreed to the changes and have provided one of
their service train paths for the train to use.

The Railway Centre says the Wenselydale Railway made an "irresistible offer" to get the trains

This is the third passenger train from the national network this year - the others were a recent Steam railtour and the other a Pathfinder Class 50 tour

So how are two trainloads of people (plus the blue pullman lot) going to fit onto the one shuttle then...?

Presumably they were less than half booked (on average), when the changes were made. Remember, on the Satruday there was only one shuttle anyway.

I think it will be safe to assume that there will also be some cancellations of bookings as a result of the change. Certainly all in my group are probably cancelling - I've done a through trip to Redmire this year already, and been there about 10 times in the past 2-3 years on the Wensleydale Railway. Boulby I've done once and that was way back in 1990.
