There are some great shots there. Some real works of art! The sunset ones are particularly good, and the Carlisle bridge, and the level crossing, but they're all good without exception.

Yes, some fab shots this week. Always interesting with a subject like this to see how different people interpret so well done all. I didn't even have a photo to put in this week. However I have voted and I narrowed it down to nos. 16 and 17 but in the end, I plumped for 16. I love HSTs and 17 is great but I just love the black lines and gold in 16 along with a great atmosphere - superb!

The contrast between the different geographical features and the angle the shot was taken from set #3 apart from the rest (of an excellent bunch) for me.

Some crackers this week. 6, 7, 10, 13, 14, 16 and 17 all very worthy of mention. It was between 13, 14 and 16 and I went with the view that we very seldom see.

For me, 16 is the outstanding shot. Rather than being a photograph of something arty, in this case, the photograph IS the art. Well done to whoever composed that one.

I didn't have time to compose, I saw a shot in my mind and by the time I got to where I wanted to be the train was already moving so I just underexposed a little and used my instinct.:D

Stunned to have won. Thank you 12 voters.

A worthy winner. For me it was all in the lines. The seemless train whizzing by set against the stationary barrier with each line (alomst!) pointing to infinity out of shot right, with an interesting red light set at just the right height between them. Well done :)

Thanks Strat-tastic; appreciate your comment. I think the dynamic lines livery helps a bit too. There are a few more along similar lines in my flickr set:
