The prize is: £10 off the ticket price for the Highland Chieftain on the Highland Chieftain Forum Meet in July.

You must record yourself making an announcement. This is for a fictional service that calls at EVERY station on the ECML taking the route of the Highland Chieftain. These are all stations passed by the Chieftain.

    The announcement is as follows:-

Platform 1 for 0945 GNER Link service to Inverness. Calling at:

    INVERNESS

Platform 1 for 0945 GNER Link service to Inverness.

Please try to keep the file size down by compressing it to MP3, but if you cannot do that do not worry as I can convert it.

(By the way the stations in CAPS, are those which the Chieftain calls at in real life :))

Rules: it must be your own voice, you may be asked to prove it if we are in doubt that it's you. My decision is final. NO cash alternative prize.

Bah, what about an all stations Penzance - Dundee ;)

One has already done an all stations Loughborough Central - London Marylebone (excepting LUL stations) <D

You also forgot to announce restaurant facilities, first class, and all the crap they come out with now ;)

I may have a go at this, I have had a quick practice and can say most stations name with ease.

How long would a train stopping at all those stations take to go from KX to Inverness I wonder!

You could calculate it by adding up the parts.

London-Welwyn GC all stopper 40 mins
Welwyn GC-Peterborough all stopper 1 hr 02 mins
    Peterborough-York all stopper 1 hr 32 mins

and so on.. (Anyone want to take over at this point?!)

There will be some limitations though, e.g. no Chathill - Berwick or Dunbar-Drem trains, so you'd have to estimate.

Only 4 days left and I've only got 2 entries!

1288gaje's announcement is very realistic, however it's for the wrong line, so I can't accept it!

Well, I suppose I have 3 entries if I include Gareth Hale's entry, except that has the Crazy Frog in the background...

I must agree - but, we're talking King's Cross... it's too big to hear Crazy Frog!

Got a problem, no idea how to send it...Got no conversion software either, as my MP3 player (only means of recording I'm afraid) does not save in .MP3 mode it seems.

Advise me ASAP, I want my entry to be heard by someone other than myself!

I only got 3 valid entries (5 if you include the Crazy Frog entry, and one to Penzance  ), so I am extending the deadline to 8pm on Saturday.

Anyone with a broken microphone has a few days to buy a new one (they're about £3 or so I think?).

Can't say fairer than that ;)
