Looking at the Wikipedia pic, I'm trying to find out whether the wall was like this before the railway came or whether the wall was rebuilt for the railway. It's hard for me to tell because this part of the wall seems to have similar aging to the rest of the wall. Any North Wales expert can shed some light on this?

Thanks.

I myself don't know, but I would not be surprised at some building work well over 150 odd years ago
