At approximately 3pm on Wednesday, 19 Dec 2013 a freak storm hit Cork City and the surrounds with extremely strong winds and rain. A few seconds after the 3pm Cork - Cobh departed platform 2 at Cork Kent, the winds ripped the platform canopy off, with debris landing in the car park and out on the main road. Debris also hit a 2600 class DMU in platform 3, and another unit in the old carriage siding. A loco in one of the engine roads also got it. From other reports, the signal cabin got damaged as well. Thankfully no one was killed.

Thought this was yet another separate thread on the incident Finbarr, not a set of dramatic pictures. Apologies for my original post pointing to the original thread.

It really was quite dramatic wasn't it, the stock photo I had seen so far didn't seem to show anything like that.
