I have had reports from my contacts at the local RUGs that Coventry Ticket Office are refusing to sell tickets that they should, and also are not always offering the cheapest option to passengers (often only Virgin Tickets are offered without giving LM options). I have had quite a few problem swith ticket office in the past.

What is the best way of tackling the problem?

Peter

If the primary issue is discrimination against LM, then surely the best route is to complain to LM themselves that a Virgin station is refusing to sell their tickets, or failing to offer the choice on journeys where there is a choice and LM is cheaper.

This is a breach of the rules and I would imagine LM would be most concerned to deal with it as they will get almost no revenue share on shared routes (because they are almost always far slower) compared to 100% revenue share on LM-only tickets.

I had a classic at Coventry on Tuesday. I needed to go to Newark and had a valid ticket to Leicester. I asked for a off peak day return from Leicester - Newark (validity B5 after 0830) at 0730. The clerk refused saying it could not be sold until 0830 as it was not valid until then. The LM guardon the Cov - Nuneaton gladly sold me one.
