Is the WACA not being used for test cricket anymore? Drop in pitches? I hope they can replicate the standard of track at the WACA. Fast, bouncy and terrible for England. Hang on.............

My understanding is that the WACA is being consigned to the dustbin of history. At least as far as big name internationals and Big Bash goes it'll still have second string internationals and Sheffield Shield matches though.
The current plan is that the WACA will still host international cricket against teams which draw smaller crowds, with only the big ones (internationals against England and India, plus the BBL) going to Perth Stadium. Is the WACA not being used for test cricket anymore? Drop in pitches?
Yes, Adelaide Oval is the closest Test venue to the WACA at 2,128km away.Isn't the WACA the world's most isolated Test match ground - in so far as it's closest would be thousands of KM away?
Pity about the WACA, I have vague memories of grainy black-and-white images on BBC's highlights show of that Lillian Thomson turning England over, - and re-arranging Bumble's off and leg.
Day 3 of the GABBA test is over.
Australia bowled out Pakistan out for 142. Australia decided to get thier skates on and had a relatively quick time picked up 5/202 before declaring in the dinner interval.
STUMPS:
PAK 2/70
Ali: 41*
Khan 0*
Starc: 1/28 Lyon: 1/13
just come home now. Poor tour all round.
All over at the GABBA. Australia taking out the game by 39 runs. Pakistan put up one hell of a fight.
PAK: 450
Asad Shafiq top scoring with a very gutsy 137 off 207 balls.
Starc the pick of the bowlers with 4/119
I'm still at a loss as to why the umpires last night decided to go for an extra half an hour. Australia at that stage only had taken 5 wickets for a day and didn't look remotely likely to take one.
Now we move on to the BBL and the traditional Boxing Day test.
India certainly "made hay in the sunshine" after the tea interval and when the declaration came when they had reached their highest-ever test of 759-7, Nair had reached his triple-century (303 not out, with 4 x 6 and 32 x 4), ably aided and abetted by Ashwin (67) and Jajeda (51).
Highest ever, or highest against England?
" .... it is now": England 207 all out, losing by an innings and 75 runs.
After being 103 - 0, they lost all ten wickets for 104 runs.
Game 1 of the BBL has been run and won with the opening game the "Sydney Smash" between the Thunder and the 6ers.
6ers won the toss and fielded first. The Thunder looked like they were off to a flyer but lost 5/15 in the middle overs Gibson steadied the ship with a well run 53. The 6ers just did it way too easily only losing 1 wicket.
THU: 8/159 off 20
Gibson 53
Mennie 2/16
SIX: 1/160 off 18 overs.
Henriques 76*
Russell 1/27.
Game 2 is tommrow night the the Strikers taking on the Heat at the Adelaide oval.
