I think many passengers won't notice!
You'd be surprised. The lack of underfloor engines would be welcome for one!

It seems to have been able to keep to the voyager timings. Lost some time between Sheffield and Wakefield due to another train, but pretty much made it all up again (although mainly due to the longer booked stop at Leeds).Good morning. Just had a look on XC's JourneyCheck - the 05:25 Plymouth to Newcastle is running as an HST today. It says 'Will be formed of 7 coaches' rather than say 'Will be formed of 7 coaches instead of...'
I take it this is now a regular HST diagram?
It is a booked diagram for today, XC804 - not that the diagram is running throughout. 1V62 terminating at Birmingham and working 1S53 starting there. XC02 off 1V54 empty to Plymouth, presume then onto LA. I think this diagram is due to run tomorrow as well, maybe it'll actually run throughout tomorrow. No it isnt a booked diagram.
Yes it was booked. Booked today too, XC02 was meant to work it but didn't due to flooding. 1S37 restarted from BRI with a DMU.It is a booked diagram for today, XC804 - not that the diagram is running throughout. 1V62 terminating at Birmingham and working 1S53 starting there. The listed diagrams in the post above yours are subject to changes due to engineering works. Today engineering works are taking place meaning no services are running between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway. These are todays HST's looking at real time trains:Morning all, first post here though I regularly use the listed diagrams.
Currently (for today) according to RealTime trains all northbound crosscountry services from Plymouth are 4 & 5 car voyager units.
I'm travelling on the 12:27 service so we shall see if that's true.
Don't know if anyone has heard anything different.
Probably lucky you went yesterday considering the line is closed between Exeter and Tiverton today.Ah thank you I regret travelling today rather than tomorrow in that case! Was trying to a trip entirely using HSTs, didn't realise the engineering works between Temple Meads and Parkway would affect it.
V54/S53 are a 4 car Voyager.Probably lucky you went yesterday considering the line is closed between Exeter and Tiverton today.

Four sets have been used a decent amount of times, usually when a set swap takes place at Plymouth from V44 or V50 etc. It is the first XC HST to Cornwall since March though. Is that the most sets used in a single day since March?
1S49 goes to Tyne S.S. after terminating at Newcastle. So to get the HST and Voyagers in the right locations the HST would then have to go empty to Leeds and the Voyagers empty to Newcastle.Apologies that I'm not great at asking some questions any other way but why the could the HST not have run 1S49 to Newcastle and the 15:27 be double Voyagered? At least with that, the HST can get to Neville Hill before 1E63 does (assuming there's no delays) or Craigentinny in Edinburgh at a reasonable time.
XC04Any idea what set of coaches is with 43285 and 43357 this afternoon on 1E63?
Thanks very much, any idea on the whereabouts of XC05 and 43384 currently as I am sure I saw a picture the other day of 43384 in Laira saying it was about to have an exam but not 100% sure about that?XC04

Thanks for the infoYes 43384 waiting for exam.
The Cross Country's website and RTT is still showing the current timetable running until May so I shouldn't think there will be any changes. Are the diagrams changing next week?
XC02 with 43366 and 43239 is going on an adventure to Dundee and Montrose tonight on 1Z45 which started at Bristol with the set from 1V44.
