Good morning everyone. I have a question about CrossCountry Off Peak Return seat reservations. I have booked my outgoing and return tickets both with seat reservations. I have now decided to return a couple of days later than originally planned. Is it necessary to reserve another seat, or is it still possible to have a seat in the non bookable coach. I will be getting on the train at Glasgow, so if I get there early enough, I should be one of the first people on the train. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Seat reservations aren't compulsory on CrossCountry (although they claim they are). That said I wold highly recommend obtaining a reservation if at all possible. Any station ticket office should be able to sort one for you.

Not that many Cross Country services from Glasgow Central are there? How far are you travelling? Further than Edinburgh? And more importantly, do XC currently have any unreserved coaches on their ECML services?

Probably best to get a reservation for piece of mind to avoid any possibility of occupying a seat which suddenly then displays having become "reserved" by someone else during the course of the journey, i.e. before you are due to alight.

(Usually, the above seat electronic seat reservation displays will warn you of this, but not always).

I'll be travelling from Glasgow to Sheffield. There are not many trains just now and its a very early train. I'm hoping I can reserve a seat as it would be a long way for anyone to stand. :frown:
