The Tunnel Boring Machines for Crossrail are shortly to be named.
A competition is running on the Crossrail website with a list of suggestions for naming the TBMs.
Voting closes later today (29/02/2012 I assume at midnight), so sorry for the late heads up.

Feel free to vote how you wish, but I'd like to make the case for 'Mary and 'Sophia' being as those names are associated with two great railway and tunnelling engineers: Isambard Kingdom Brunel and his dad Marc Brunel.
