Is this too hard? The answer is a station in the North of England, and the branch line also.

When you lose the initial D, you get Alston, which is at the end of the closed branch from Haltwhistle.

No it isn't Barons Court, although the station is on one of the two lines serving Barons Court.

It isn't Cockfosters.

The station is on the District line.

Think of the name, or rather the surname, of the current US president.

Then think of a word which means to have more children.

So if you put together "<surname> is <word which means to have more children> "

and mix the letters up, you get a station on the District Line.
