Currently there are engineering works in Croydon town centre means that trams are running only as far as East Croydon from the east, and Wimbledon - Wandle Park from the west.
Assuming the (presumably numerous) trams needed to operate the east service cannot get to the west side, where are these trams stabled at night? To my knowledge there is no depot or sidings east of Croydon.

Which is probably why there is currently no service to Elmers End, except during peak hours.

Do trams need to be moved across Croydon for maintenance at the depot? If so do they go on a low-loader, go "wrong way" round the loop under special traffic arrangements, are the normal tracks temporarily opened for them, or some other solution?

Tram... Maintenance...?
Sorry that's quite funny...
They'll be running wrong way through the open section or doing "all practicable maintenance" at their stabling location. I do know that some systems will not be being tested daily as they should be.
