It appears to be the same as our Network Information Manager.

I'll give you a brief overview of what ours does, seeing as it looks similar:

Contact other transport providers to arrange ticket acceptance
Speak to other transport providers to offer ticket acceptance on our services
Provide customer information via service status screeens
Inform colleagues of service information via -(several systems)
Speak to Trafficlink / other external agencies to inform them of our service
Answer general network information calls from the company
etc

That's basically it, I could let you know the exact requirements but I've still yet to hear from HR....

And EM2, as for your question -

Again, this is coming from the perspective of how we do things on LU, but the NIM works very closely with the Network Operations Manager, so if your looking to get into control, I'd say it's a great position to go for, and someone with a customer service background is suited to this job.

Hmmm, I hope you're referring to LUL as FCC Customer Information Managers get paid a basic salary of £29,000 which with overtime, you're looking at another 4K roughly.

Thanks for all the info guys.
One more question, any idea of the roster pattern?
I'm guessing 3 days, 3 off, 3 nights, 3 off (or maybe 4/4/4/4)?

I'm not sure on the exact roster but they have three shifts which is 0700 to 1900, 1900 to 0700 and spare which means they could be working any of the aforementioned shifts.

Its one of those jobs where the salary varies widely.

With EMT and Virgin its 22K
With Northern its 35k
obviously with LUL its much higher.

Daniel, what money are your service controllers on out of interest?

Service Controllers (level 2) which are Line Controllers are the same as NOC NIMs £49-53k

Service Controllers (level 1) which do signalling at Stratford Market and Neasden depots and the Baker Street signalling centre which does bits of the Jubilee, Met and Circle are on £44-47k
This is the same for a NOC controller.

Service Operator (level 4) - Senior Signalmen based at control rooms (Me!) are on £47.5k

The quiet signal boxes are on £34k, busy ones £38k and reserve staff on about £39.
