In a certain railway publication, there is a rumour that D213 is going to be overhauled for mainline running and that DRS are looking to use it on special trains.

Is this true or does one treat it as an April Fool?

Hopefully they don't do what they did with 55016 and buy it, get the staff worried about the price of overhaul and it's use, and then sell it

But with exception to the bogies it is already in good nick. Anyway people shouldn't jump to the conclusion that they've bought it outright, a share in it would be more sensible. As would seem to be the case...

What's happened to 40145 these days? Where is it? What's it doing? What happened to the preservation society? Their website doesn't work.

40145 is currently undergoing rather expensive repairs to its Main Generator.
