Great shots there 8-) This Christmas I will be getting my first DSLR and I was going to go for the Nikon D40 is it easy to use ? and I have seen on peoples fotopics sites that the Nikon D40 can take fantastic shots but I guess you just ahve to pratice with it :D

It's relatively easy but it depends on what camera you had before because I had spent a year using a finepix s5700 which is pretty close in it's settings to a dslr.
But at the moment I am finding it challenging but that's just me I refuse to read manuals and choose to learn as much as possible everday.
(Final note) it does have an auto setting so in theory you can just whip it out and get some Quick shots.

The Camera I have at the moment is a Olympus Camera C-170:oops: so its going to be a really BIG step up the ladder for me but I have had this camera for 6 years now and think its time to do the big jump up the ladder now . I think I will keep it on the auto setting until I read the Manual and understand it 8-) Your like me then I refuse to read the manuals but for this I will.

My Dad has the Nikon D50 so If I need to I can learn from him :)

Great set of comments and yeah 34067James you should just make the jump becasuse even the auto shots are worth the money and if ya read up and speak to other dslr users ya should be up to speed in no time.

Thanks for the reply. It will be a big jump but as you said yourself if I read and chat to other I speed in no time :D
