In the last few minutes, I've been getting a few database errors. These have happened when going to the usercp and viewing a profile.

Yeah, just come to this thread via the usercp, so that's working at least.

When it happened to me about an hour ago, there was a notice stating that the Railforums UK staff had been notified and that I should use the "refresh" function.
Our hosts are conducting an upgrade of PHP (the base framework the forum runs on) so there may be some slight instability for the next day or so - from what we can tell, the database issues observed here are part of this
