Management Apprentice
Introduction
DB Cargo (UK) is part of a worldwide mobility and logistics corporation – Deutsche Bahn AG, and is the UK’s largest rail freight services provider transporting everything from cereals to coal, barbecues to biomass and petroleum to steel.

DB Cargo (UK) has an exciting opportunity for committed and enthusiastic individuals to commence our Management Apprentice training programme. The three year programme will ‘fast track’ individuals to become a part of the DB Cargo (UK) management team, alongside working towards becoming a qualified Train Driver.
The successful candidates will complete approximately 12 weeks ‘classroom based’ training at our head office in Doncaster, before furthering their study and experience at one of our management apprentice training locations nationwide.

The successful candidates, following on from the initial training, will work within their specific depot and obtain competency in Shunting, RSI and work towards their Train Driver qualifications.
They will have an allocated mentor who will support them until they are ready to go onto the on-call register and support Managers in the field.
At the end of the programme, successful candidates will take up management roles such as Service Delivery Manager or Safety Assurance Manager.

What are we looking for?
You will need to be a hard-working and a committed individual who has the desire and passion to succeed and start a management career within the rail freight industry. In return you will be working initially towards a Level 3 CMI qualification, and then later a Level 4 qualification in either Customer Service or Assessing and Coaching.
The minimum requirements for the Management Apprentice role are;
Be at least 21 years of age
Hold a Level 3 qualification (A Level or equivalent), in addition to GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English
Pass a psychometric assessment
Pass a relevant Medical including Drug and Alcohol testing conducted via an approved provider
Have a good understanding of English to level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) established by the Council of Europe
Hold a full UK current and valid road vehicle driving license (for manual vehicles)
You must not have taken and failed the Train Driver assessment within the last 6 months
You must not have taken and failed the Train Driver assessment twice before
Not have defective colour vision or had laser eye surgery

We are offering a salary progression as folllows; Year 1 salary £25,00, Year 2 salary £30,000, Year 3 salary £35,000
