As the title says, DCDR commences summer services this Saturday (16th). The first train leaves Downpatrick station at 1400 and then every 45 minutes until 1700 with the last inbound train departing Inch Abbey at 1720.

Services will run every Saturday and Sunday until 9th September. Drop by if you're in the area, you'll be most welcome.

This Sunday will see the last of the summer trains at DCDR. Services will operate this Saturday (8th Sep) and Sunday between 2 and 5pm.

For those travelling out to Inch Abbey and taking the short walk to the ruins, there will be a 'Living History' 13th century Cistercian monk explaining about life in and around the abbey. Also, the museum in Downpatrick station and new carriage gallery will both be open.

After Sunday, the next DCDR trains running will be the Hallowe'en ghost trains at the end of October.

For those who can't wait, the Irish Traction Group will be running a diesel gala on 20th October, full details of which can be found here http://www.railforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=70951
