Does anyone know what was the purpose of yesterday's three return trips between Willesden DC Rail Sidings and West Hampstead Thameslink?

Are DCR likely to be involved in what I believe are HS2 spoil movements between Willesden and Northfleet - paths for which have recently appeared?

I can't recall an actual Northfleet path but there was one in for Grain Foster Yeoman a couple of weeks back, could that be the same one? Interestingly 60055 was back in action today and worked 0945 0Z20 Toton to Crewe Basford Hall SSM and then 1359 6Z20 to Willesden hauling what looks like a rake of 10 unusual, to me at least, wagons, coincidentally the Grain FY schedule has reappeared for tuesday, is that 1+1=2 or 1+1=3 I wonder?

The one mentioned here?

Nothing came of that one but I'll keep my eyes out on Tuesday!

It'll be a novelty for you if it does run, daylight!!

60055 ran back home today as 1130 0Z60 Willesden to Toton, the wagons it hauled yesterday are reported to be (ex)Freightliner flats with spoil/aggregate boxes for NR engineering work over the Xmas period

Thanks for the update @56091, do you know if DCR have just moved the wagons or are they doing the NR job as well?

*Updated 21st December*

Info courtesy of a gent on Flickr, the 10 wagons on 6Z20 were 8 FSAs and 2 KFAs

This is currently running with 60029.

Managed to completely forget it until it was actually passed me here so didn't get it on film!

Looks like it returns this evening:

You stupid boy, we'll have to call you Private Pike from now on ;)

Looks on Flickr that 6Z60 ran to Grain with 7 of the 10 wagons, 6Z61 arrived back at Willesden an hour early

There's a Q path appeared in the December timetable change for a Sunday only, Chaddesden to Kingmoor, via the Hope Valley and WCML:

Nothing has run yet, is it likely to in 2021?

As long as the spoil continues to be produced I'd imagine the trips will restart in the new year

Let's see if it runs again and I get a chance to redeem myself!

A rather convoluted arrival for 6X61 via Kew, Clapham Jct and Kensington, I didn't ever have anything to do with Railvac type equipment so I assume it required turning for Willesden and the task it's needed for?

Looks as though 60055 will be tucked up with 60029 until saturday evening when RTT are currently showing a schedule for West Hampstead North Jct along with a return to Willesden on monday morning, another schedule showing at this time is for Willesden - Eastleigh - Millbrook- Willesden on tuesday

Thanks for that, I thought there must be a good reason for the route it took

*Updated 4th January*

*Updated 5th January*

Do you know if there's an issue with 56091 or whether it's just not needed at the moment and hence the long stay at Leicester?

One of our well informed fellow contributors said a while back that 091 was due an exam, I can only assume that DCR have chosen to put it in 'suspended animation' while not so many locos are required, it would seem that the same has been done with 60028. I did suffer a slight heart problem today seeing a picture of 56091 on Flickr, prepare yourself and have a look ......
