Very tragic news indeed.

Is that the depot that Hastings Diesels have?

I'm guessing possibly the old stabling shed a short way further East which was electrified along with the Hastings main line (and still in use by main line trains).

I believe the third rail stops just outside of the old maintenance depot which is owned by HDL.

There are two depots down at St Leonard's. There is the Southeastern 'depot' where there are 5 roads for units to be stabled overnight, which is electrified. Slightly west of that, there is the Hastings Diesel depot (also used by 73s and Southern's DMUs), which is non-electrified.

Very sad news about the chap, sounds like a tragic accident. Thoughts with his family, friends and colleagues at the depot.
